Alpin Action - crew Beppe Caramella

Ho iniziato a pagaiare in fiume nel lontano 1990 in Valsesia  nelle Alpi Italiane. Ho disceso fiumi un po’ ovunque nel mondo, tranne in Oceania, ho pagaiato tra i più classici canyon al mondo, Grand canyon del Colorado in USA, Grand canyon del Verdon in Francia, Grand canyon dello Tsarap e Zanskar in Ladakh India e Gran canyon dello Zambezi in Africa. Mi piacciono i torrenti stretti e pendenti delle alpi Europee ed i river trip self-supported nelle zone più remote del globo, ma allo stesso tempo mi piace partecipare alle competizioni di alto corso che si svolgono annualmente in Italia come puro divertimento. Penso che l’andare in kayak non sia solo uno sport come tanti, ma una filosofia di vita e perche il pagaiare non è solo un gesto atletico, ma coinvolge aspetti legati all’ambiente, alla natura, alla difesa dei fiumi, alle valli remote abbandonate e alla fine al sedersi con le gambe sotto il tavolo dopo una discesa per godersi dell’ottimo cibo con i compagni di avventura.

I’ve been paddling since 1990 and I started in Valsesia, in the Italian Alps. I’ve run different rivers a bit everywhere around the world but Oceania, I’ve paddled the most classical canyons of the globe, the Grand Canyon of the Colorado in USA, the Grand Canyon of the Verdon in France, the Grand Canyon of the Tsarap and Zanskar in Ladakh India and the Grand Canyon of the Zambezi  in the heart of Africa. I like steep creeking in the European Alps  and also self-supported multi days river trips in the most remote areas of the globe, so that I like challenging white water competitions like the ones that take place in Italy every year as pure fun. I think that paddling, river running is not just a sport like many others, but a philosophy of life and because paddling is not just athletic performance, but it involves issues related to the environment, to the nature, to the river conservations, to the remote valleys abandoned and finally to enjoy good food and drink with your mates.
