Titan Yantra Team test review. (italiano, english)

Titan Yantra 7'9'' Team test review

When someone says: „You're the only one I know with such a small size, next weekend you'll test a new kayak“, what are you going to do? You do test the new kayak.

Looking at the shape, I can say it's small, but very well-proportioned.

On Titan web site they say it's a cruising machine, designed with the today's eclectic paddlers in mind.  Well, actually Yantra gives you the impression to be a versatile and fun river running kayak. Fun, meaning that it's manoeuvrable and reactive, suitable to those who have some technical skills, but looking for a boat not too big and also to intermediate paddlers looking for a compromise between stability and good learning features.

To me was really satisfying to paddle a river running boat which is finally designed and fine-tuned for small paddlers or very young ones. I immediately noticed how easy it was to have a perfect control of balancing my weigth, especially in the bow area where normally I have some difficulty even with a free-style boat. Small people like me knows how much satisfaction one can feel when you get a manoeuvrable kayak, perceivable to our ergonomics.

Its weight, 18kgs, you don't almost feel, probably due to its well-balanced hull, or maybe because after years of Hercules-style efforts, today I carried a kayak which immediately felt light as a feather.

Again on Titan web site, they acclaim the semi-planning hull performance and the ease of tracking, even after some small mistake, and it's true, today I made some boofs with different angles and I have to say that I felt it very stable and with a good inertial speed, I like when a kayak maintains the speed I transmitted.

The only imperfection I found: the thigh braces are not very well shaped and I'm not used to that, but I have to say that the original outfitting is good enough and for the first time I felt like having long legs as the footrest was already set to my size. Most probably with little more adjustments the Yantra will guarantee more control, the one that today was a bit missing.

In summary, I liked Titan Yantra quite a lot and I consider it an interesting and multifaceted kayak: an eclectic kayak for eclectic paddlers.

Titan Yantra 7'9'' Team prova e recensione
