Video from Los Sosa river-Argentina by Fabian A. Bonano

It is one more day on our home river Los Sosa but this time our German friend lars was the commentator!
That day i was helping to Santiago to portage his boat on the cascade rapid at the same time Colo throw the paddle at the bottom of the waterfall but the undercut took it 4 mt deep. you can see in the video when my friend Colo let go rope until he start to be worry and for that reason he pulled. i was also worry because its was so dark and i was low air i only had a 5 cm. of gap between surface and roof. I had to take half a breath, not a good feeling...

The run was technical because the shallow pool but Colo and i run it though. Colo miss the boof and pin the boat a bit with not big deal.

enjoy it and more pics and video soon!

Panenka paddles – Cobra (IT,EN)

A presto in fiume

Panenka paddles – Cobra EN
Until a while ago, the name Panenka was familiar to me as the man who invented the chipped penalty during the Euro ’76 final, a Czechoslovakian who inspired both Totti and Pirlo. But today the boss, after being back from Kanu Messe in Nuernberg brought me another type of Palenka, a nice paddle and, like a good soldier, I rushed out to try. The model named Cobra has a carbon-kevlar straight shaft with carbon prepreg blade, with a shape that makes it – at a first glance – particularly suitable for white water. But let’s see how it performs in its environment…
I state that after several years by using Werner, I never found anything that have just impressed me, but the evidence showed this object from the Czech Rep. pleasantly surprised me. First of all the weight, only 900g in total, a real twig, but with the impression to have something solid in the hands. In the water the sensation is good, with a good grip of the blade and, thanks to its low weight, the paddling frequency is very high. I found very impressive the speed of pulling back and forth of the blade while maintaining it into the water, absolutely neutral, almost better than Werner. I tried to pull some boof and again very good answer, taking off is guaranteed!  I didn’t understand very well the blade dimensions, as their website is not providing so much information, but it seems to be something in-between the “M” and “L” size, therefore I’d say quite versatile, for a wide number of paddlers. I’ve tried the model with both length and angle adjustment possibility (optional) and keeping the length fixed, I’ve paddled with different angles from 30 to 60° and I’ve noticed a better grip with the left blade –  while maintaining the neutral wrist – with a 45°-50° adjustment. Of course you’ll also find models with fixed length and angle, with a further save in money and weight.
All in all, I can say this is a solid, medium-high level product which I feel to recommend, at a very competitive price. To be checked only its absolute robustness, but only time will give the answer.
See you soon in the river!

Liquidlogic Stomper 90 (IT,EN)

Stomper 90

The doors have been opened and the evolution was realised. Stomper the new toy from Liquidlogic had spread around the globe and is now here in Slovenia. liqiudlogic is developing new ideas year after year and trying to connect kayakers with water in that way that paddling became easy and spontaneously.
The new wave of extreme kayakers, which are pushing the limits to the maximum, helped to design this boat.  The result is a boat that is prepared to go to the maximum. The youngest brother of Jefe is a blend between speed, stability and rolling ability a great combination for step creeks. Every shape have it function and reason.
I tested the stomper 90, for me it was the perfect combination, I like big boats and I paddle with me body lined forwards, write on the deck where is the most efficient on turnings. It turns smooth and fast, probably the redesigned tail offers enough safety to push you out from any problem and let you turn in any situation. Sometimes I had the feeling that the tail is going too much under water but it always keeps the forwards momentum. Rocker is a classical icebreaker and is going over anything. For me the highlight are the reshaped edges, they are the heart of this boat. Edges are soft on slides in the water they offer enough grip and forgiveness to go one step further.
Badass is the name that Liqidlogic is using for their outfit which is, comfortable, adjustable and simple also they did a small innovation on stomper, making easier access to the stern of the boat for things that you need on water.

Stomper 90
