Samaná River
The area's
history begins with the Tribe Pantágoras, descended from the Carib Indians.
The team
was formed by Jules Domine, Todd Wells, and I but this time we had new friends
in the crew and they were: Andrej Bijuklic (SLO), Jernej Mlekuz (SLO), Andraz
Krpic (SLO), Eric Parker (USA) and Ben Marr (CAN).
The Canyon
of Samaná River also call North Canyon of Samaná River, Display’s a
beautiful scene, decorated by different shades of green, with lush beauty of
its mountains and irrigated by the four crystalline rivers and streams that
comprise it.
Actually
the first descent was made last year by Jules Domine one mate of him, it is
nice to do it in two days as is possible to do it in one day but you will miss
many of the side beauty.
Here you
have different angles to don’t miss the put in at the bridge in the middle of
the highway between Medellín and Bogotá.
Benny Marr
worming up right under the bridge, I clarify that Ben had just arrived from
Canada and after overnight bus meet us at the bridge to get right away in the
water.
Andrej
Blijukic happy as a kid with a new toy on a the perfect wave on the first day.
Jules
Domine and I are in one of the many shocking gorges, awesome place to have a
swim and lunch.
The sexy
boys at the camp, this place it is very easy to recognize because the left side
is a tributary river of medium size, also has a perfect pool with hydro massage
and a big boulder to practice cliff jumping.
On the
second day is the final gorge when the river becomes two times bigger because
the dam release with two huge tubes that comes from under the mountain.

Excellent river Epic times once again and now let have some cold beers!
Unfortunately
I have to tell that this river is going to be another victim where a dam will
be build.
Next river
will come any time!
