Waka kayaks are excited to present our newest and perhaps most
amazing creation to date. The Steeze is a boat that has been created
from our passion to deliver the kayak we as paddlers most want. Our
desire is to have a boat that makes kayaking even more fun whilst not
having to compromise on the features that a modern-day creek boat brings
when that epic run comes in.
With the Steeze we have kept a creek
boat nose with lots of rocker to keep you moving forward whilst cutting
the volume off the tail to enable the paddler to whippy up a storm and
pivot turn everywhere they want. We have also designed a pod to attach
through 4 inserts to gain the extra volume required when shit gets real.
The Steeze will be 300L with an additional 60L with the pod attached.
Coming in at 273cm long We are aiming for a total weight of 24kg with
Pod.

The pod is attached with 4 screws, very easy to get off and on, it only takes around 30 seconds.

Il pod è attaccato con 4 viti, molto facile da tolgliere e da rimettere, ci vogliono solo circa 30 secondi.

Large cockpit and shaped foam wall for easy entry/exit, the thighbrace even if not adjustable works well for most of the paddlers, it is very aggressive, so here you can see it wit around 5 cm cutted away for myself, the knee position is low but not too wide, pretty good, seat and backband are simple and confortable, i would make a lower backband if i can say. (in this one i can see a Dragorossi logo on the paddings...)
Il pozzetto è grande, il longherone anteriore sagomato per facilitare l'entrata e l'uscita, il premicosce, pur non regolabile, è funzionale per la maggior parte dei canoisti, molto avvolgente (e sporgente) qui lo vedete tagliato di almeno 5 cm, modifica indispensabile per le mie gambe, la posizione delle ginocchia è bassa ma non troppo larga, piuttosto corretta, sedile e cinghia poggiaschiena sono semplici ma confortevoli, anche se io metterei un poggiaschiena più basso. (in questa vedo dei loghi Dragorossi sulle imbottiture...)

On the water the Steeze has a huge primary stability and a good secondary, a bit less without pod, is fast enough, turns well and thanks to the sharp rails, carves nicely, this kayak gets lively as soon as you het to some more moving water, stronger eddies and currents are good fun in the Steeze, with pod, it paddles very similar to the Waka OG but faster, without, you are in a playful river runner and we'll need to learn again how to stern squirt.
Sull'acqua la Steeze ha una stabilità primaria incredibile, buona la secondaria, un pò meno se si toglie il pod, abbastanza veloce, gira bene, e grazie ai rails marcati carva molto, questo kayak prende vita non appena le difficoltà aumentano, ci si comincia subito a divertire quando morte e correnti si fanno più turbolente, con il pod la Steeze il comportamento è molto simile alla Waka OG ma più veloce, senza, diventa un river runner con buone caratteristiche da gioco, dovremo imparare di nuovo come fare i perni di coda.

Ending my first impressions Steeze review, i can say that this kayak can be a very good choice for paddlers who wants to have only one boat to paddle creeks with the pod and river play without, for travellers that can have 2 boats in one for the long kayak trips to exotic lands and even for beginners that will have a stable platform to learn and later, without pod a nice technical tool for progression.
Per concludere la mia breve recensioni con le prime impressioni sulla Steeze, posso dire che questo kayak può essere un'ottima scelta per chi vuole averne solo uno, creek con il pod e river play senza, per chi viaggia spesso che potrà avere 2 kayak in uno per esplorare fiumi di ogni difficoltà in terre esotiche e anche per i principianti, che cominceranno con una stabile piattaforma per apprendere le basi della tecnica per poi togliere il pod ed evolversi nella progressione delle proprie capacità.
