Looking for some fun on the water we decided to
test the new Aquadesign SUP Vox and the S.U.K . 9’6 and 10’6 on Predil Lake,
Friuli Venezia Giulia.
All boards can be inflated up to 18 PSI and we
found them very rigid and reactive on the water, the construction is good and
solid and the finish is ok.
They all come packed in a nice cordura backpack
that includes a pump with the manometer, a central removable rigid fin, two
integrated soft fins and for the SUK a seat with high a backband with
carabiners for fast attachment to the board.
The Vox 9’8 is a high volume board, wide and
thick, stable and nice to paddle on flatwater, it promises good performances on
wave surfing as well, the Orange/Grey color looks very attractive, light and easy
to carry. With its specs - 9’8’’ (298
cm) x 382 cm Weight=13 kgs, and an affordable price (820,10 euro) can be a very
good choice for beginners and as well as advanced paddlers.
SUK 9’6 and 10’6 are something new, the most
interesting thing is that they can be paddled standing as a SUP or sitting as
on a sit on top kayak thanks to the nice cordura removable seat the side tubes
adds buoyancy and stability.
Standing up the boards are fast and well
tracking with the central fin and very maneuverable if we decide to go only
with the smaller integrated soft fins.
Sitting and paddling as on a kayak we’ll have a
lot of fun, comfortable, very stable and with great carrying capacity, we will
be able to take with us a kid and all the gear for a day off. Elastic cord
carrying system on the bow is provided on both boards.
The choice between the two boards must be done
according to the paddler weight, the gear we need to carry with us, and of
course speed or maneuverability, so big boys will take the 10’6 and smaller
paddlers the 9’6 unless they would need to carry a lot of stuff with, the
longer for maximum speed, the shorter for better maneuverability.
Measures:
the 9’6’’ (290 cm) x 81 W= 13kg
comes in Blue, the 10’6’’ (320 cm) x 82
cm W= 15 kg comes in Orange.
Price is very affordable, 724,00 euro for
the 9’6 and 755,60 euro for the 10’6.
We tested the boards on whitewater class 2/3 as
well and it was great fun both standing and sitting.
